Adoption Week Scotland takes place every November to raise awareness of adoption in Scotland, highlight available support, and build connections within the adoption community. The programme includes family events, meet-ups, online information sessions and discussions for adoptive families, adopted people and practitioners who work with them.
Our theme for 2026 is Supporting Loving and Caring Adoptive Families – an opportunity to recognise the positive impacts of adoption on children and families and highlight how good support can help them thrive.
Adoption Week Scotland is jointly hosted by Adoption UK Scotland and the Association for Fostering, Kinship and Adoption (AFKA) Scotland, alongside our partners Scotland’s Adoption Register (SAR), and is funded by the Scottish Government.
This page is updated every year with the programme of events for Adoption Week Scotland. If your organisation is hosting an event, please fill out the form below to have it listed on this page.
